Yu.P. Ladikov-Roev graduated from Rostov State University in 1951, in 1960 he post-graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University,  specialty hydromechanics. In 1961 he defended his Ph. D. thesis, in 1974 – a doctoral thesis. In 1983 he was elected a member of the National Council for Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in 1984 he was promoted to professor. In 1982 Y.P. Ladikov-Roev received the V.M. Glushkov prize of NAS of Ukraine.  In 2001 Y.P. Ladikov-Roev was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine. Scope of scientific interests – theoretical and magnetic hydromechanics, modeling of complex control systems, analysis of their stability and optimization of technological processes in liquid and gaseous media, including in the presence of phase transitions, magnetic hydrodynamics and processes on the Sun.
